Egli descrive i suoni, le parole, le azioni e i movimenti con cui possiamo fare in modo che il nostro cane capisca ciò che vogliamo, ma, soprattutto, corredando il testo di disegni esplicativi e schemi, analizza in dettaglio le diverse tipologie e combinazioni di segnali che i cani utilizzano tra di loro o inviano agli esseri umani a seconda di ciò che intendono comunicare.
