Il regalo di Natale perfetto per gli amanti dei gatti «Il gatto è l’unico animale a quattro zampe che ha convinto l’uomo non solo a mantenerlo ma anche a credere che per mantenerlo non ci sia bisogno di fare nulla», scriveva il poeta Karl Tucholsky. Difficile non pensarla allo stesso modo. Forse i gatti esistono semplicemente per dimostrarci che non tutto nella vita è questione di soldi, che ci sono dimensioni libere dal duro governo di Mammona, che possiamo trovare riparo in un mondo incantato, dove le fusa, i miagolii e le carezze valgono ancora qualcosa. Dove si può passare tutto il giorno a dormire e a dedicarsi alla propria toilette senza sentirsi dare del fannullone. Dove si ha sempre la possibilità di riprovarci, dato che le vite dei gatti sono sette e in una di queste le cose dovranno pur funzionare. Per noi che subiamo il fascino di questi incantevoli animali la buona notizia è che in ogni tempo e in ogni luogo ci sono stati uomini e donne che hanno riconosciuto apertamente la loro passione per i gatti. Uomini e donne celebri, membri anch’essi di quella nobile e selezionata comunità che tiene insieme tutti gli appassionati dei gatti e alla quale si dev’essere orgogliosi di appartenere. Grazie all’amore condiviso per i gatti, queste persone colte, erudite, creative, importanti, potenti, belle e ricche ci appaiono meno distanti, dato che, per quanti successi abbiano potuto mietere, nell’accarezzare sapientemente un gatto sono proprio uguali a noi. E perché non pensare che al loro successo abbiano contribuito anche queste carezze e le tenere fusa dei loro gatti quando si sdraiavano, mostrando loro la pancia e stiracchiando le zampe? Read more
